These controls record your game and guide preferences. Change actual game settings in the game.

What would you like to build and explore underground?

Combine survival, boss progression, building, automation and exploration. Your equipment plan can develop alongside those projects.

Combine these priorities freely. They record your priorities. Story decisions remain available at their quests; these notes do not mark achievements earned.

Use boss milestones, a developed base or a chosen exploration project as your next destination. You can combine goals and keep expanding afterward.

Official session rule

Console commands can suppress Steam awards

The 1.2.1.3 patch notes stop Steam achievement triggers in a game session where console-command use is detected.

The wording does not establish permanent save damage, a recovery procedure or a blanket ban on ordinary mods.

Community-documented rule

Use survival for the achievement route

Community documentation excludes Creative worlds from achievement eligibility. The guide recommends a survival world.

All current difficulty, mod and world-setting combinations have not been tested.

Find a style that fits your priorities

Choose weapon practice, talent priorities and equipment for boss expeditions while keeping the same shared crafting and food economy. Backgrounds give an opening advantage, not a permanent class; equipment and later talents can change as resources permit. For Steam achievements, avoid console commands: official patch notes suppress triggers in a session where command use is detected. Community references also exclude Creative worlds.

Bow spacing and dependable workshop upgrades

Ranged Survivor

Keep enemies visible at a distance, fire deliberately and move before the next telegraph lands. A Ranger opening helps, but another background can craft or find the same weapon route. The build works with ordinary tier upgrades and survival food; Phantom Spark is a later exploration project, rather than a requirement to start learning bosses.

Learning curveApproachable

Spacing and aiming are the core lessons; movement and food make mistakes manageable.

Choose this when you wantLearning boss telegraphs · Predictable crafted progression · Flexible solo expeditions

Reconsider if: Constant close-range trading; Waiting for a random perfect outfit.

What you actually do

A practical rhythm, from preparation to payoff.

1
Prepare space

Clear the intended fighting area, eat useful food and identify a retreat line. Fire from a visible angle rather than kite into unexplored hazards or blocked corridors.

2
Shoot then move

Use brief aimed fire during recovery windows, reposition before the next attack and reserve the off-hand for the needed defense. Switch weapons if a target reaches unsafe range.

Illustrative play example
Illustrative encounter

Illustrative expedition: a boss begins a clearly telegraphed rush. You stop firing, move along the prepared arena edge and resume shots after it passes. A nearby smaller enemy calls for the fallback weapon rather than firing blindly through the boss. After the attempt, ore goes toward the next useful armor and bow upgrade. This describes a forgiving preparation routine; it is not a tested Hard-mode clear or a comparison of maximum damage.

FROM A REALISTIC START TO THE PAYOFF

Your progression path

Read in order. Each stage explains what makes the next step practical.

1Opening
Ordinary bow and food

Use a Ranger start or obtain a Wood Bow through the workshop. Keep armor and healing food current, and carry a close-range fallback. Establish a clear retreat path before shooting; the opening works through available gear rather than waiting for a full specialized set.

2First payoff
Range talents and mobility

Practice with the weapon to earn relevant skill progress, then prioritize the reachable attack and accuracy talents. Pair improved tier gear with a shield or movement off-hand you can operate. Follow Riders’ current critical numbers instead of copying an old Weakness Detection bonus.

3Mature
Phantom Spark exploration

When the Sunken Sea component route and required crafting access are available, assemble the legendary bow while retaining useful upgraded gear. Continue to solve armor and mobility needs. The weapon’s arrival improves the route’s ceiling but does not replace reading dangerous arena patterns.

Guide progression diagram — an authored explanation, not an official skill tree or measured ranking.

Strengths, tradeoffs & requirements

Strengths
  • Distance assists learning
  • Useful before rare drops
  • Simple equipment transitions
Tradeoffs
  • Missed shots lose uptime
  • Confined arenas restrict kiting
  • Upgrades still consume ore and coins
Plan around these requirements
  • Bow and ordinary armor upgrades
  • Reliable healing/movement food
  • Ranged practice and current talent gates
  • Phantom Spark components for the optional late target

Expedition support

The supporting roles that make this style work.

Shield or movement off-hand

Supplies a dependable defensive action.

Cooking and garden

Sustain healing and movement buffs.

Close-range fallback

Handles nearby enemies without relying on perfect bow spacing.

CARRIED INTO YOUR WALKTHROUGH

What to prioritize

  1. Craft a usable bow before rare-item detours
  2. Prepare food and arena movement before bosses
  3. Route Phantom Spark only after outer-biome access

Can you change your mind? Background does not lock the route. Swap equipment and develop another weapon skill through use; existing skill experience persists. Talent changes use the available reset interface/resources. A late legendary project costs components, but ordinary ranged gear remains a workable bridge.

Source-based strategy

Practical synthesis of the linked mechanics and recommendations. Not an in-game tested run; equipment gates and installed tooltips take precedence over fixed shopping lists.

Version context: Official Steam news confirms 1.3.0.6 on October 9, with Riders 1.3 live September 21. Wiki Magic/Summoning tables still show removed talents despite fresh crawls: official persistence, mana and barrier changes take precedence. Platform parity and installed mod rules were not tested.

Five playstyles through the Titan souls, Core Commander, Urschleim and released 1.3 content, with staged production, current-source recipe bills and 59 Steam achievement entries.

Version context: 1.3.0.6. Five survival/combat plans follow current persistence, mana and barrier rules. The mortar route no longer treats minion detonations or a magic staff as ordinary explosive-build upgrades.

Builds & playstyles · 5 plans reviewed

Checked 2026-10-10: 1.3.0.6.

Five survival/combat plans follow current persistence, mana and barrier rules. The mortar route no longer treats minion detonations or a magic staff as ordinary explosive-build upgrades.

Source review for normal survival progression, not a validated Hardcore run. Official Riders changes take precedence over stale wiki talent tables.

Reviewed plans and corrections
  • Ranged survivor — forgiving first run · Retained. The ordinary ranged progression remains usable. The guide acknowledges the current Weakness Detection reduction rather than relying on its old value.
  • Advanced hybrid — Stormbringer mining conversion with combat armor · Retained. Stormbringer remains a melee lightning weapon with mining conversion support. Ancient Gem necklace/ring is a real pair; the guide avoids incompatible full-Miner-set claims and reinforcement for a durability-free weapon.
  • Barrier mage into Titan Breath · Retained. The guide follows official 1.3 mana regeneration and barrier changes, not removed Firmly Grounded or old regeneration-delay assumptions. Older wiki talent tables must not override official changes.
  • Advanced hybrid — Persistent curse squad with Scholar/Grim caster defense · Retained. Official 1.3 makes summons persistent and introduces the current command/scepter model. Current tome and Grim armor entries support the capacity/mana distinction; no lifespan loop is necessary.
  • Mortar and explosive specialist · Updated. The mortar progression and Credence explosive XP are supported. Correct the implication that Minion Detonator gains ordinary explosive bonuses and keep that summoning variant separate.
Outdated or unsupported advice excluded
  • Minion Kindler and Minion Detonator do not gain ordinary explosive buffs.
  • Old summon-lifespan loops, removed talents and reinforcing a durability-free Stormbringer are excluded.

Seed-dependent routing, bosses, production recipes, automation, skill/build advice and achievements were screened against current 1.3 references.

Source-based audit with documented gaps. Section screening is not individual fact verification, and no complete current-version playthrough is claimed.

Corrections in this review · may contain spoilers
  • The organ is a crafted summon item, not a station or destination to which loose fragments are delivered. The later numbered instruction already describes combining them correctly. Reference
  • Legacy fishing was restored as an optional setting; stating that it was removed without qualification is obsolete. Reference
  • Make the no-minigame cleanup route depend on the actual optional setting. Reference
  • The copied coaching scope contradicts the current main guide coverage note and the already-corrected recipe quantities. Reference
Remaining verification
  • Procedural locations and random drops cannot be guaranteed by a fixed route.
  • Some exact recipe, talent and later boss details still rely on references that may lag the live game.
Sources and what they support
  • Official Riders announcement and 1.3 notes — Mounts/Moss, persistent minions, new scepters, changed magic talents, attack-speed-scaled combat skill gains and reduced recipe costs.

Developer primary text; detailed 1.3.0.6 version verification remains in the earlier version audit. Does not establish every item value or talent connectivity.

  • Current Steam achievement roster — All guide names match. Visible thresholds and actions agree.

Hidden descriptions remain blank; hidden predicates are checked against K03 only where available. Steam names alone are not trigger verification.

  • Community achievement requirements — Boss/item mappings, skill and collection thresholds, outfit/music tasks.

Wiki calls one entry Explosive Mastery; live Steam correctly names it Explosion Mastery as the guide does. Added combat, seed, difficulty and retry advice is not verified by this table.

  • Crafting and processing tables — Compared corresponding recipe quantities in the guide. Early copper budgets, drill/power costs, kart bills and Relucite armor totals agree; checked arithmetic.

Individual upgrade prices and loot sourcing not covered. Read table rows are evidence about those recipes only; remaining processing/combination sections not reviewed.

  • Ancient Shrine — Guide summon/scanner bills for the six shrine groups agree.

Does not verify combat methods, all later drops or guaranteed scene placement.

  • Merchants and housing — 4-64 interior housing, bed/item/space requirements, relocation instruction, named shops and relevant prices.

Does not guarantee merchant arrival timing or every equipment unlock; no multiplayer housing test.

  • Gardening — Crop substrates, manual-harvest XP, seed-return issue and golden-plant baseline match.

Crop production time and automation throughput not tested.

  • Rune Parchment — Merchant purchase and Rune Song assembly bill.

Does not independently settle all ingredient drops or sword secondary damage.

  • Phantom Spark — Unbreakable/no-reinforcement rule, component route, parchment bill and kill-spawned spectral effect.

Per-upgrade damage and exact ghost interaction tests excluded.

  • Soul Seeker — Current reduced bill agrees with the guide: 400 Gold, 600 each Scarlet/Octarine/Galaxite, 100 gems plus pickaxe/parchment; forge route.

No actual crafting attempt or independent gameplay extraction.

  • Veil Crux — Five-scepter pedestal sequence, Ward Coil, optional retrieval, Veil Echo lead and curse function.

Does not prove all five prerequisite scepter drop tables or damage optimization.

  • Core Commander — Six-soul gate, three orbiting cores, second phase and three shrinking safe circles, rematch idol.

Suggested tactics/gear remain editorial; no execution or damage benchmark.

  • Oblidra the Void Lord — Roaming Breaker encounter, organ made from ten fragments, guaranteed heart and optional individual armor pieces.

Stub does not describe phantom invulnerability, precise armor cycling or all elemental attacks.

  • S.A.H.A.B.A.R. — All four legs disabled together, two phases, void residue, guaranteed neuron/idol and random mortar housing.

Does not establish optimal beam tactics or every generated arena layout.

  • Credence of Ruin — Three parts plus parchment, charge/barrage behavior, explosive skill attribution and no durability.

Does not describe both component puzzle solutions or placement reliability.

  • Skills overview with stale portions — Noncombat XP/reset framework and stable generic skill categories were compared.

Stale minion-expiration, old magic nodes, flat-hit combat XP and fishing advice contradict newer records. K01 outranks those paragraphs. No whole-tree current verification asserted.

  • Pets — Maximum level ten, five talent points, random talent options, owner/minion XP; named support pet roles.

Individual egg locations and complete species-specific talent pools not all rechecked.

  • Hardened Sap — Named sap sources and Floracada/Corrupted Sap uses.

Floracada exact spawn geography and Arcane Egg rate not established here.

  • Scene records — Rune parts, Phantom cities/vault, hidden Thread of Fate, desert maze rewards and Titan Temple structure agree.

Seed availability/orientation remains variable; scenes article explicitly lists some failures. No universal coordinates or tested path for a generated world.

  • Druidra — Organ/biome and listed drops; Pink Eyes/Verdant Echo certain, Coiled Branch random.

These pages do not describe detailed phantom/attack behavior; that prose remains unresolved rather than inferred from drop tables.

  • Crydra — Organ/biome and listed drops; White Eyes/Gelid Echo certain, Frozen Orb random.

These pages do not describe detailed phantom/attack behavior; that prose remains unresolved rather than inferred from drop tables.

  • Pyrdra — Organ/biome and listed drops; Pyric Echo certain, Magma Rod and ray random.

These pages do not describe detailed phantom/attack behavior; that prose remains unresolved rather than inferred from drop tables.

  • Nimruza — Oasis summon, attack/add/void patterns, guaranteed neuron/Echo and optional equipment.

Recommended maneuvering and readiness are editorial, not a proved safe method.

  • Urschleim — Roaming Passage encounter, three bulbs expose head, resummon item and guaranteed mitochondrion.

No speed/defense guarantee; exact rematch recipe independently limited to the named crafting records.

  • Atlantean Worm — Bait/roaming encounter, split weakpoints, heart and optional equipment; Speeder tactic.

Item effects and current dodge-build arithmetic not independently validated by this encounter article.

  • Oblivion Fragment — Ten fragments combine into the crafted Wind Organ of Void.

Does not verify boss phase mechanics.

  • Cooking — Manual food collection XP, ordinary recipe discovery and movement-food base/quality values.

Rare-output cookbook problem is community-documented, not reproduced on 1.3.0.6. Not all guide food effects read individually.

  • Fishing — Catch XP, optional legacy minigame, Mercenary Headband, Hookshot, Abyssal Scepter and Temperance fishing leads.

Intro contains optional-minigame framing; old speed advice is conditional on that setting. Remaining late-biome catches not all read.

  • Fireshine official post-1.0 patch notes — Legacy fishing minigame was restored as a gameplay toggle.

Historical official change corroborated by current K28; not a current build certificate.

  • Pink Cherry Blossom — Ten matching pink blossoms combine into one tree.

White variant and host setting not independently established by this item record.

  • Swift Ring — 12 iron/3 gems recipe and 13.8 percent at level20 agree.

Combined movement threshold remains a live character-stat check, not a guaranteed loadout total.

Before you commit: Procedural scenes, random drops and pet talents vary; fixed world coordinates are not supplied.

Coverage limits, evidence dates & corrections

Authored coaching synthesized from this guide's existing route, builds and source bibliography. This date records the data/anchor review, not fresh verification of every linked page or hands-on gameplay. Facts are entered manually; recommendations do not read the game save, certify achievement unlocks, or cover every possible state. Existing coverage limits: Procedural scenes and puzzle orientations vary by seed. The guide uses scanners, Echo-Maps, biome names and reward containers; it does not give invented universal coordinates or a full illustrated map. Soul Seeker and the three kart bills use current community item records checked on 10 October. Compare the installed parchment or workbench recipe before committing the batch; these are source checks, not in-game craft tests. Builds are documented equipment/talent recommendations checked against current patch changes, not an independently measured maximum-DPS ranking. Exact newly rearranged magic-tree node positions are read from the current skill screen. Generated timing puzzles are described by mechanism and exact reward, not an invented universal switch sequence. Optional scene locations depend on the world seed; follow Echo-Maps where available and explore the specified biome for the remaining scenes. All 59 current Steam achievements and released boss progression are included. Every cosmetic, figurine, furniture recipe, seasonal drop and random pet talent variation is not individually catalogued. Future 1.4/1.5 roadmap content has no playable route here. No personal boss clear, damage benchmark or perfect-pet seed is claimed. The Ancient Gem/combat-armor selection is a synthesis of community advice and item data; the specific three-piece mix is an alternative to compare, not a proven maximum-DPS set. Current minion mechanics supersede stale skill pages. Even a September community build still mentions the removed Firmly Grounded talent in its mage section; that advice was excluded. Exact new summoning-tree connectivity and all rank costs must be checked in the 1.3 skill screen. Random loot, pet talents and procedural scenes can delay individual gear pieces. Milestones supply functioning substitutes and do not promise universal coordinates, a guaranteed first boss drop or an immediate level-20 outfit.

Equipment and expedition plan

Choose the weapons, pet or summons you enjoy, then follow the shared workshop, biome and boss route. Mining, farming, cooking and travel upgrades support every plan.

Progression plan

Ranged survivor — forgiving first run

A bow and mobility route with dependable crafted upgrades, enough armor for mistakes, and later . Recommended for learning bosses without waiting for a full random set.

Start with this setup
  • Start Ranger, or make Wood Bow at Copper Anvil for 15 Wood. Keep a melee tool for nearby breakables. Any background can follow this route.
  • First five Range talent points: Rapid Shots 5/5. Then develop Weakness Detection and its path toward Amplified Precision; use Keeping Momentum if sustained firing fits the encounter. Riders reduced the Weakness Detection critical bonus to 50%.
  • Take Maxed Out! in Vitality, then healing support and Protection of the Ancients when reachable. Use movement food and a shield/feather you can operate reliably. The build is a researched recommendation, not a tested speedrun or guaranteed Hard-mode clear.
Preview this plan from the beginning to the endgame · 6 stages
    • Use Wood Bow, then Tin Anvil Slingshot. Ranger pieces from Glurch are welcome; full bronze is a reliable fallback.
    • Keep a until a familiar dash or hookshot is available. Hatch any useful pet rather than delaying for perfect talents.
    • Craft at Iron Anvil. A found Flintlock Musket from early chests/Ghorm is a high-damage alternative with slow recovery; do not fire it while cornered.
    • Craft a Swift Ring for 12 Iron Bars and 3 Ancient Gemstones when spare ore permits. Take short firing windows between dodges; do not stand still solely to activate a damage talent.
    • Craft and upgrade it. Keep Hunter armor from Wilderness loot if it improves the full loadout; use current-tier metal armor if survivability drops.
    • Hatch Owlux for movement and general damage, or Pheromoth from Fuzzy Egg for physical ranged damage and dodge. Pick useful available attack-speed/critical talents.
    • Complete the three-metropolis chain. Upgrade the bow and use its critical strengths while keeping a movement off-hand.
    • Try Dreamer pieces from Morpha if obtained; otherwise retain a leveled defensive set. Ghost support needs its trigger and is not an unlimited boss-healing promise.
    • Build a solid arena and focus the real head during armor-break windows. Continue developing Amplified Precision and boss-defense talents.
    • Keep sufficient health/armor to survive one missed pattern. Carry burn protection for Pyrdra and remove Crydra ice turrets quickly.
    • Keep upgraded or craft at Relucite Smithing Table (18 Relucite, 8 Pandorium, 15 Corrupted Alloy).
    • Compare Void-Fused armor with your leveled set. Choose better effective defense over a marginal damage number before Oblidra. Complete Range 100 with the ranged weapon rather than a mortar.

Your completion route: Power the Core, defeat the six Titans and Core Commander, continue through the Passage and released update bosses, then finish the 59-achievement checklist. Future 1.4 and 1.5 regions remain outside this route.

Changing your plan keeps your saved achievements, quest choices and checklists. Required respecs, unlocks and later equipment are explained at their route steps.

Story outcomes, achievements and reference notes

Source review covers Riders of the Underground 1.3.0.1 (September 21, 2026), through PC hotfix 1.3.0.6 (October 9). The newest hotfix addresses Free Weekend world entry; it announces no build or progression rebalance.

The Explorer's Guide is a separate digital handbook and the soundtrack is music. Neither is required for the free content routed here. Trials of the Depths 1.4 and Beyond the Breach 1.5 remain future roadmap content.

Summons persist in 1.3. Build advice uses scepter curses and the current mana-regeneration model; old minion-lifespan and magic-delay trees are obsolete.

This is a procedural world. Directions use the Core, biome names, visible landmarks, scanners, Echo-Maps and shrines; they are not universal coordinates.

The default recommendation is a Standard character in a Normal survival world. Hard-world tactics are included. Hardcore permanent death is an optional challenge outside this guide's recommended baseline. Achievement warning: official 1.2.1.3 notes say Steam achievements stop triggering when console-command use is detected during a game session. Avoid console commands on an achievement run; this is a session rule, not evidence that every ordinary mod disables achievements.

The advanced equipment routes are reviewed for the free Riders update through PC 1.3.0.6. The latest hotfix addresses Free Weekend world entry and announces no build rebalance. Stormbringer mining conversion and the persistent-minion route remain documented options; neither requires future roadmap content.

Source correction: older Getting Started material can still describe Hive Mother as the third statue boss. Follow this guide’s current Malugaz progression; the older page is not evidence for that modern gate.

Research baseline checked 10 October 2026: 1.3.0.6. Released; Riders of the Underground and existing postgame available. The latest entry displayed a relative time rather than a full date, so do not infer an exact calendar date from that listing. Roadmap updates 1.4 and 1.5 are future content, not available walkthrough chapters.

Your Very First

Incubate an egg with power, take the cracked egg and open it to hatch a pet. No special species or difficulty is required.

Pet Prodigy

Reach pet level 10 and equip that pet. Keep a companion active for combat and use appropriate pet treats; hatch color is unrelated to its level.

Rock and Stone!

Equip Ring of Rock and Ring of Stone together in the two ring slots. Find them through the early chest, stone-mining and Caveling Brute routes; two copies of one ring do not qualify.

Beam Me Up

Activate and use a waypoint to teleport. Learn the destination menu after the first accessible waypoint; it is not a story-ending action.

A Good Life

Feed a cattle animal its correct food. Plants feed Moolin/Bambuck; critters feed Strolly Poly and Orex. Complete it safely in a pen before any combat expedition.

Farmer Midas

Manually harvest a golden crop. Plant and harvest ordinary seeds repeatedly; Expert Gardener helps, but golden crops no longer require unlocking that talent first.

Legendary Fossil

Catch Starlight Nautilus in lava with sufficient fishing power. It is rare and can be pursued alongside quarry gear; defeating Igneous alone does not count.

Certified Chef

Discover 100 distinct recorded cooking recipes. Use ordinary ingredients, personally collect each result and check the cookbook. Reversing a pair does not create a new recipe; rare outputs may fail to record it.

In a Rush

Exceed 200% movement speed on the character. Stack the listed speed gear and food with active running/mining effects, then check the stat while moving. Vehicle speed is not the condition.

I want ’em all!

Place every color of one eligible pet species together in one chest and open it. The route uses eight Owlux colors from Lively Eggs; include the equipped pet if it completes the set.

The Heart of the Cards

Gather all nine named Oracle Cards and combine them with Thread of Fate into Oracle Deck. Fateful Echo locates the hidden digging spot for the thread; Wisdom comes from the Ancient Chest in the City Sewers scene. The route lists the other eight card sources.

A Throne Fit for a King

Equip King Slime Crown, then sit on a Caveling Toilet. Obtain the crown from King Slime and bring a found toilet to a safe base if convenient.

Legion Commander

Have eight minions active simultaneously. Equip full Grim, two Puppet Rings and Earie, check reservation, and summon all eight; capacity alone does not count.

A Strange Song

Play Tune of Tempest on an instrument. The default PC sequence is X V W X V W; use equivalent notes if keys were rebound.

Gossip Group

Equip Larva Helm and Larva Chest, then interact with a Big Larva. Dismiss pets/minions that might attack it first; the torso piece comes from Ghorm and the helm from Hive Mother loot.

5 Centimeters Per Second

Place ten Cherry Trees. Enable the built-in Cherry Blossom season override, gather blossoms and combine ten matching blossoms per tree. No calendar wait or paid DLC is required.

Impersonator Syndrome

Use character creation or Magic Mirror to match a character from the official illustration. The route provides one documented bald, tan-skinned, brown-eyed, dark-green-shirt/dark-purple-trouser combination; compare swatches if an adjacent color fails.

Giddy Up

Craft a Saddle after reaching iron, apply it to adult cattle and mount the saddled animal. Feeding alone is the separate A Good Life achievement.

Racer's Garage

Put Primitive Go-Kart, Renegade Go-Kart and Speeder Go-Kart together in one chest. Three identical karts or the Speeder boat do not replace the three required vehicle types.

Fortune and Glory

Equip Hookshot or Gilded Hookshot and all three Explorer's outfit pieces in actual equipment slots. Craft the outfit at Loom using wool; a cosmetic dresser display alone is insufficient.

Chapter 1 of 13

1 · The sleeping Core

IN CAMPAIGN ORDER

Create a world and wake at the Core

Begin here: The main menu, before selecting a world or character.

1. Choose Start Game, then an empty world slot. Give the world a recognizable name. Use a survival world on Normal for this first run; leave world-generation controls at their defaults unless you deliberately want a different map. A seed is optional, not something you must find online.
2. Select an empty character slot and a Standard/normal character. This is separate from world difficulty: a Hardcore character can be permanently lost on death. Set the appearance and name you want.
3. Choose a background for an opening head start. Miner is a simple tool-first recommendation; Ranger suits the ranged plan, while Mage or Warlock suits those equipment paths. Backgrounds are not permanent classes. If you want a different plan, compare it here before accepting the character.
4. Enter the world. When you wake beside the Core, pause to identify the central machine and nearby roots. You do not need to defeat a boss or activate it yet. Continue to for the first wood, light, food and tools.

For achievements, use survival rather than Creative and avoid console commands: the official notes say detected command use stops achievements during that session. Ordinary mods are not all proven equivalent to console use. Keep one main character for the skill-level targets.

PLAY & BUILD COACHING

Prepare for the first recovery trip

On this Standard-character route, keep a weapon, pickaxe and some food in the hotbar: the tombstone holds the carried inventory outside it when you die. After respawning, eat and check equipment before returning to the death location. Clear a safe approach, recover the tombstone contents and bring valuables home. Do not repeatedly sprint into the same hazard hungry. This recovery plan does not undo Hardcore death or override customized death rules.

First workshop: food, light and repair

From the main menu
Crafting & dependencies

Your first copper buys a working home

Reserve the food and tool chain before spending bars on armor.

  1. 1

    Start production

    Basic Workbench

8 Wood; place storage beside the work area.

    Furnace

20 Dirt Blocks; smelt the copper ore you mine.

  2. 2

    Allocate the first 19 bars

    Food and watering

Cooking Pot: 2 Wood + 4 Copper. Watering Can: 4 Copper.

    Repair station

5 Wood + 5 Copper; keep it ready for departure repairs.

    Copper Workbench

8 Wood + 6 Copper; opens the next equipment recipes.

  3. 3

    Keep the next batch separate

    Pickaxe and backpack

Reserve 4 more Copper Bars together for these two crafts.

    Combat spending comes afterward

Copper Anvil alone costs 8 bars; weapon and armor need additional copper.

  4. 4

    Leave prepared

    Repair and pack

Weapon, pickaxe, torches, bridging material, two food stacks and free bag space.

1. Break roots around the Core. Hand-craft a Basic Workbench with 8 Wood, a Wood Pickaxe if your background lacks one, torches and a chest. Dig the sparkling dirt walls for copper; make a Furnace from 20 Dirt Blocks and feed it ore. Keep pathways wide enough to retreat without snagging furniture.
2. Reserve the first bars for a Cooking Pot (2 Wood, 4 Copper), Salvage and Repair Station (5 Wood, 5 Copper), Watering Can (4 Copper), then Copper Workbench (8 Wood, 6 Copper). Make the Copper Pickaxe and a Small Backpack there. Place resource chests beside your stations so production stays compact.

Keep the first expedition repairable

Before leaving copper production behind, build the Salvage and Repair Station with five Wood and five Copper Bars and keep a reserve of Scrap Parts beside it. Inspect the durability bar on the tool, weapon, and armor you will actually use for the next boss. Repair those pieces before spending the remaining copper on an attractive secondary weapon. If scrap is unavailable, craft and salvage basic wooden tools as an emergency source; do not destroy your only working tool. Place a small return chest by the work area, unload ore, and replenish food before another trip. Success is a repeatable mining-and-repair cycle, not merely owning a copper item.

Help repairing the equipment for the next trip

Where to look: Inspect the Salvage and Repair Station beside your first workbench and furnace. Check the durability of the equipment you intend to carry.

What to do: Use Scrap Parts to repair that equipment, then unload ore and restock food and torches before another copper trip.

What should happen: The relevant durability bars are restored and a short mining trip can end with another repair at home.

If it does not work: If repair materials are missing, salvage a spare basic wooden tool for emergency scrap. Preserve your only working tool and check the station’s selected operation so you do not salvage the item you meant to repair.

Sources for this explanation
3. Craft a Copper Anvil for 8 Copper Bars. A Wood Bow costs 15 Wood; a Copper Sword costs 5 Copper Bars. This gives every starting background a dependable fallback. Copper armor costs 21 bars for all three pieces; use found armor first if it keeps your tool and food production moving. A costs 10 Wood and 5 Copper.
PLAY & BUILD COACHING

Repair before travel

Repair uses Scrap Parts. Spare crafted wooden tools can be salvaged for emergency scrap; preserve named components, eggs and good accessories. Reinforcement adds durability and improves eligible stats, but it is a separate operation from a permanent item-level upgrade.

PLAY & BUILD COACHING

Copper spending envelope

The pot, repair station, watering can and Copper Workbench in the list above consume 19 Copper Bars together. The pickaxe and backpack add 4 more, before the anvil, weapon or armor. Reserve those batches separately so a full armor craft does not strand the food/tool chain. Existing background equipment can reduce what you need to make.

gear

Respawn bed

The Copper Workbench makes a bed from 10 Wood and 5 Fiber. Place and use one in a protected home or a cleared outpost before a long boss expedition; keep the actual boss arena and Ghorm's track clear of your supply station.

A worked example of the first supply loop

Treat the following minutes as a suggested pace, because ore and food positions vary by world. In roughly minutes 0–5, break the roots beside the Core, hand-craft the Basic Workbench for 8 Wood, and put down light and storage. Make a Wood Pickaxe if needed and a Wooden Hoe for 4 Wood at the bench. Dig a short, lit route to visible copper sparkles; keep the Dirt Blocks for your furnace. In roughly minutes 5–15, build the Furnace for 20 Dirt Blocks and start smelting the copper you brought back. Open and fund its food, repair, watering and Copper Workbench costs before spending all your metal on armor. While the furnace works, collect nearby mushrooms, seeds and more roots, then return through your lit path. In roughly minutes 15–30, make a Copper Pickaxe and Small Backpack at the Copper Workbench, each costing 2 Copper Bars with its wood requirement. Till, plant and water a small garden beside water, cook a useful meal, and equip a weapon. Your exit condition is a repeatable home–ore–food loop, not a boss kill by a fixed minute. Continue to when supplied; use first if its jumps are still too punishing.

IN CAMPAIGN ORDER

Plant the first garden and start the recipe book

From the main menu

Give each crop the right bed and protect its seed stock

Start with a compact manually harvested food patch and keep a few seeds outside the active planting stock. Do not convert every new seed into a large field before developing Grateful Gardener: early harvests can lose seeds. When a crop refuses planting, inspect the substrate rather than repeatedly watering ordinary dirt. Carrock uses stone, Puffungi uses mold, the sea crops use beach material, and Sunrice and Lunacorn need crystal substrate. Label these plots and return a sample of each soil during exploration. Harvest by hand while building Gardening experience, then replant and cook the intended meal. Expand only after the crop, seed return, and food effect are all verified.

1. Hoe a safe plot near water, plant Heart Berry, Bomb Pepper and Glow Tulip seeds, then water them. Add Root Seeds in a separate wood-growing area so roots do not crowd the kitchen. Harvest mature crops yourself, replant, and bank a few seeds from every new species. Gardening experience comes from manual harvests; automation is a supply tool rather than a replacement for your skill progress.
Help making a planted crop grow

Where to look: Use a safe plot near water for your early food plants. Keep root growth in a separate patch so it does not obstruct the work area.

What to do: Hoe the ground, plant the appropriate seeds, water them, then manually harvest mature crops and replant before cooking the surplus.

What should happen: You can complete a plant–water–harvest–replant cycle and still have food for the next trip. A field of planted seeds is not a meal reserve.

If it does not work: If a crop refuses planting, check its required ground type. If seed stock is shrinking, keep a reserve and delay expansion while improving seed returns instead of planting every last seed.

Sources for this explanation
2. Cook Heart Berry with Bomb Pepper for a practical early health-and-movement meal. Keep mushrooms for recovery food and Glow Tulips for light/mana-oriented combinations. Two identical buff types do not add together merely because they came from different foods; prefer complementary effects and read the active buffs before a boss.
3. Start a recipe chest with one of every ordinary ingredient. Cook new pairings one at a time, take the result yourself, and watch the cook book. The long-term target is 100 distinct recorded recipes; reversing a pair does not create a new recipe. Use normal ingredients for the discovery pass because rare/epic results can fail to record a recipe.
PLAY & BUILD COACHING

First utility talents

Put the first gardening points into Grateful Gardener to improve seed returns. The first Mining tier is Efficient Excavation; movement and survival improvements are useful to every weapon plan. Every five skill levels grants a talent point, with an additional reward at level 100; reset one tree for 200 Ancient Coins when your gear changes.

PLAY & BUILD COACHING

Use the time between harvests

Plant first, then make the next short copper run while crops grow. On return, water any unfinished beds, harvest mature crops yourself and replant before cooking. Keep root growth in its own patch so new roots do not block the path between the Core, chests and stations. The first farm should sustain the next expedition before you enlarge it.

Glurch: clear the floor, then control the jumps

From the main menu
1. Search outward from the Core for repeated ground shaking and an orange-slime clearing. Before approaching the giant slime, remove ground slime with a hoe and fill awkward gaps. Avoid waking it until you have a continuous escape loop. Eat the movement meal from , equip repaired copper-tier gear or better, and set recovery food on the hotbar.
2. Let Glurch begin a jump, move clear of the landing point, then attack during the pause. Melee should use short bursts; ranged and magic should keep a comfortable gap without retreating so far that the boss resets. When its jumps accelerate near the end, shorten your attacks again. On Hard, a successful dodge is worth more than squeezing in one extra hit.
3. Loot the chest and return Glurch Eye to the matching statue at the Core. Keep Slime Oil Idol to house the freed Bearded Merchant. Store Oozy Eggs, Apprentice or Ranger pieces and the Sticky Stick if they drop; these are possible rewards, not a promised full set.

Checkpoint Home visit

Use an activated waypoint when available for Beam Me Up. Learn both its destination menu and your route back before relying on it for a dangerous corpse recovery.

Checkpoint After the first boss

Before leaving the inner area, physically install the Eye at the Core, place the Slime Oil Idol in a valid merchant room, and use the new statue recipes to plan the remaining bosses. Then obtain tin from and iron from ; Glurch's random equipment drops do not replace either workshop tier.

House merchants and sort the things you must keep

From the main menu
1. Make an enclosed merchant room with 4–64 floor tiles, one bed, an unoccupied floor tile and the appropriate summoning item. Place Slime Oil Idol for the Bearded Merchant; later Mysterious Idol brings the Cloaked Merchant. Keep these rooms outside boss routes and mob farms. When relocating an existing merchant, remove its old bed so it can move to the new room.
2. Sell ordinary valuables to fund services, but first inspect any unfamiliar item. Make a separate keep chest for Broken Handle, Clear Gemstone, Chipped Blade, Oracle Cards, mechanical bow parts, eggs, Echo-Maps, summon items and named legendary components. They are route objectives, not routine scrap.
3. Buy the Pouch Workbench when available from the Bearded Merchant and use its inventory pouches as their materials become accessible. Lock the main weapon, food and important tools so quick-stack does not strand them in a chest. The Bags & Blasts inventory systems remain part of the current game.
PLAY & BUILD COACHING

Hatch a permanent companion early

From the main menu
1. Collect eggs while exploring and label them by type. Build the Glass Smelter and Electronics Table from the Copper Workbench; smelt suitable sand into glass, then craft an Egg Incubator with 8 Copper Bars and 8 Glass Pieces. At the Electronics Table, also make an Electricity Generator for 10 Copper Bars. Place it beside the incubator or join them with Electrical Wire; check for yellow power notches before inserting the egg. If incubation does not start, check that connection. When ready, take and use the cracked egg to hatch it.
2. Equip the pet and keep it active while fighting. Pet experience comes from your combat, your minions and the pet itself. Level 10 is the cap; allocate the five talent points earned along the way. Talents are rolled at hatching, so compare two pets of the same species before investing your saved candy.

Find the Owlux egg: For the early Owlux recommendation, break wooden or ancient crates and stoneware pots as you explore the inner regions; a Lively Egg is a random find from those containers. Put it through the powered Egg Incubator described above, take and use the Cracked Lively Egg, then equip the hatched Owlux. Keep using an available companion if no Lively Egg has dropped; the guide does not assume a guaranteed egg on your first circuit. .

3. An early Owlux is a flexible movement/damage helper; a fighting pet is also fine. Warlocks will later prefer Earie for an extra minion, physical ranged plans can use Pheromoth, and mages can use Arcane Symbiote. These supports are optional upgrades, not bosses' access keys.

Campaign notes & backups

Coverage, version notes and sources

Procedural scenes and puzzle orientations vary by seed. The guide uses scanners, Echo-Maps, biome names and reward containers; it does not give invented universal coordinates or a full illustrated map.

Soul Seeker and the three kart bills now use the current community item records checked 10 October. Compare the installed parchment/workbench recipe before committing the batch; this is a source check, not an in-game craft test.
