Official ownership rule

New Game+ needs Master Vacation

The Master Vacation Pack grants clear-data New Game+ on Normal, Hard and Legend, plus Big Swell. The base-job build plans do not require buying extra jobs.

Choose a party & job planSuggested plan: Hero balance: leader safety and two recovery answers

Find a style that fits your priorities

Jobs, weapons and inherited skills define the plan; there is no custom allocation of ordinary stat points. Begin with story-assigned jobs, change at Alo-Happy after Chapter 5 access, and develop both campaign teams separately as the story changes their membership.

Reorder the comparison without changing your game settings or story preferences.

Reliable campaign party with broad coverage

Hero balance: leader safety and two recovery answers

Keep Ichiban in Hero, let the current magic teammate cover weaknesses, and give another member a dependable recovery role. You win through complementary actions and a leader who survives mistakes, rather than a long burst setup. This works from the ordinary story opening and improves with Hero ranks, stronger equipment and inheritance slots without requiring rare dungeon armor.

Learning curveApproachable

Roles are straightforward; track MP, leader safety and who can recover the healer if that role is incapacitated.

Choose this when you wantA forgiving first story playthrough · Learning positioning and weaknesses without a fragile leader · Developing both campaign teams without heavy farming

Reconsider if: You mainly want showcase burst damage; You dislike dedicating turns and MP to recovery.

What you actually do

A practical rhythm, from preparation to payoff.

1
Read the round

Identify the threat, current weaknesses and leader health before spending MP; assign recovery to one member so another can attack or provide an independent emergency response.

2
Preserve the safety net

Refresh the survival tool when appropriate, heal before the leader becomes fragile, and keep enough MP for a revive rather than using every remaining point on damage.

Illustrative play example
An illustrative difficult round

Imagine a boss damages Ichiban heavily while the caster still has enough MP to exploit a weakness. The recovery member heals the leader, Ichiban restores the survival buff if needed, and the caster uses the weakness rather than duplicating healing unnecessarily. A fourth member keeps an item or learned revive ready if the recovery role falls next round. This is a sample role allocation, not a measured fight or a guarantee of surviving every difficulty.

FROM A REALISTIC START TO THE PAYOFF

Your progression path

Read in order. Each stage explains what makes the next step practical.

1Opening
Hero with ordinary story partners

Use the assigned party and equip sensible defense before chasing marginal damage improvements. Learn positioning, follow-up opportunities and enemy weaknesses, while reserving MP recovery for the actual caster. Keep another member ready to use a healing item if the primary recovery role fails.

2First payoff
Hero recovery and survival ranks

Hero learns healing at rank 6, revival at 12 and Guts at 22. Develop those tools before an elective leader-job change. These are job ranks rather than character levels; retaining Hero keeps its native toolkit available without consuming inheritance slots.

3Mature
Independent coverage on both story teams

Train useful inherited elements or recovery on the character who will use them, and develop bonds/personality to open legal slots. Build Japan and Hawaii roles independently after the split. Kiryu can remain a powerful Dragon of Dojima anchor without assuming Ichiban accompanies every party.

Guide progression diagram — an authored explanation, not an official skill tree or measured ranking.

Strengths, tradeoffs & requirements

Strengths
  • Protects the leader whose defeat is especially costly
  • Recovery remains useful across unfamiliar boss patterns
  • Broad elemental and physical roles adapt to many enemies
Tradeoffs
  • Safety turns reduce immediate damage output
  • Poor MP management can disable both recovery options
  • Duplicate healers without damage coverage can prolong fights unnecessarily
Plan around these requirements
  • Hero rank progression and an upgraded bat
  • Two independent recovery or revival answers as learned
  • Personality/bond development for inheritance access
  • MP items and defense on vulnerable party members

Party

The supporting roles that make this style work.

Ichiban: Hero

Leader survival, native healing and flexible physical damage.

Tomizawa: Cabbie or later caster

Elemental coverage on the Hawaii team.

Geodancer or available recovery specialist

Primary recovery with an independent emergency answer on another member.

Kiryu and Japan recovery partner

Build the separate story team around its own available damage and healing.

CARRIED INTO YOUR WALKTHROUGH

What to prioritize

  1. Keep story jobs as the playable opening before Chapter 5 changes
  2. Prioritize Hero ranks and leader defense before optional burst training
  3. Route bond and personality development with independent campaign-team support

Can you change your mind? At an Alo-Happy room, change jobs and inherited skills after access unlocks. Untrained jobs reduce current stats and need job experience and a matching weapon; keep Hero recovery learned before switching the leader. Learned useful skills are a bridge, not shared automatically between characters.

Established archetype

Hero and recovery mechanics are directly documented. Party roles are practical synthesis, not an absolute best composition or a benchmark.

Version context: PC 1.20 is the latest numbered official reference found on 10 October 2026; a newer installed build was not established. Job mechanics were checked against CyricZ’s May 2026 revision. Core party plans use base-game jobs; Master Vacation is needed for New Game+, Hard/Legend and Big Swell.

Hero safety, Samurai burst and Aquanaut/Host coverage are strong practical alternatives with different resource demands. Authored coaching synthesized from this guide's existing route, builds and source bibliography. This date records the data/anchor review, not fresh verification of every linked page or hands-on gameplay. Facts are entered manually; recommendations do not read the game save, certify achievement unlocks, or cover every possible state. Existing coverage limits: Not a catalogue of every container, all 317 enemy records, every Photo Rally board or every Dondoko guest/furnishing. It routes the complete campaign, major optional systems and every achievement, and identifies selected useful gear. Later PC patch/build status could not be established beyond the official Ver. 1.20 announcement. No installed-game or save-file verification was performed. Some reference walkthroughs are labelled PS5; Steam's roster and the publisher's PC/DLC pages establish platform coverage. Button glyphs should follow the player's PC input prompts. Exact bond gates for every unused character/job pairing are not exhaustively audited. Verified gates for the selected plans are included; Alo-Happy's locked-job panel is authoritative for other pairings. Geodancer's Essence of Natural Healing is listed at rank 24 by RPG Site and 25 by CyricZ. Plan to reach rank 25 and verify the learned-skills panel; no build depends on obtaining it at 24. The Steam meta-achievement reads 'Obtained all achievements.' Its DLC dependency is not separately certified here; complete and check all 74 for a full Steam completion. One-time substory performance bonuses and story-dungeon pickups merit a manual save. All achievements can be cleaned up in Premium Adventure or the required DLC replay; this is not a claim that every physical pickup is repeatable. Random dungeon armor and late weapon funding can delay the final configuration; each plan supplies a usable fallback. Some older web guides place job access in Chapter 6 or imply immediate Ichiban slots. The checked Chapter 5 unlock and personality/bond gates take precedence here. No DLC-only Linebacker/Tennis Ace skill is required. Master Vacation still gates Big Swell and Hard/Legend NG+; all existing achievement, souvenir and story warnings remain applicable.

Progression plan

Hero and two safety nets

Recommended forgiving first run. Keep Ichiban in Hero, cover elements with Tomizawa, and maintain a dedicated support plus a second emergency heal/revive. This is a practical campaign plan, not a measured damage-meta ranking.

Start with this setup
  • No custom stat allocation is required: jobs, equipment and inherited skills define the plan.
  • Opening: use the / route; keep MP recovery for Nanba and Kasuga. Buy defense/HP upgrades for the leader before marginal damage upgrades.
  • Train Hero through healing at rank 6, revival at 12 and Hero's Guts at 22. Reapply the survival buff in long dangerous fights.
  • Raise all personality tracks toward 5 for Ichiban's inheritance, and companions' bonds toward 50 for their Drink Links. Use tours and job gates at the linked stop.
Preview this plan from the beginning to the endgame · 7 stages
    • Ichiban Hero, Adachi Detective, Nanba Homeless Guy; use Adachi's grapple on guard and Nanba's magic for coverage.
    • Carry recovery items on the whole team; do not let Ichiban enter a new wave critically injured.
    • Hero / Dragon of Dojima / Cabbie / Geodancer for Ichiban, Kiryu, Tomizawa and Chitose.
    • Learn Housekeeper's opening ice/fire tools for Chitose when slots permit; keep her area heal. Follow the exact purchases in the job stop.
    • Replace departing Kiryu with Adachi; Samurai supplies ranged fire and physical damage.
    • Keep Tomizawa's ice grapple and Chitose's healing so Adachi can focus on ending dangerous targets.
    • Kiryu Dragon of Dojima, Nanba Host, Seonhee Kunoichi, Saeko Idol.
    • Give Seonhee a recovery option and keep Saeko's MP reserve. Zhao later becomes a flexible fifth member.
    • Prioritize True Legendary Hero's Bat, then Tomizawa's Full-Drive Custom Wrench if staying Cabbie.
    • Use the crown and Drink Link bases specified locally; Chitose's Paradise Maracas is the support investment.
    • Aim around character level 50 and main jobs around 30; protect against relevant statuses and remove risky XP gear.
    • Keep gun/blade/fire/ice/electric coverage across each group, not just the combined ten-character roster.
    • Develop additional inherited utility while levelling. Use a high-bond mixed party in Premium Adventure.
    • Carry a physical fallback even on a caster: Big Swell remixes familiar resistances.

Your completion route: Complete all fourteen story chapters and both final assaults, then use Premium Adventure for dungeons, bonds, substories, level 70 and seven rank-30 jobs. Master Vacation separately gates Big Swell and NG+/Hard/Legend completion; verify the full 74-entry Steam list against actual awards.

Changing your plan keeps your saved achievements, quest choices and checklists. Required respecs, unlocks and later equipment are explained at their route steps.

Story outcomes, achievements and reference notes

Released on PC in January 2024. The base game contains the complete main campaign; Master Vacation adds New Game+, Hard/Legend replay and Big Swell. The 74-entry Steam roster includes nine Master Vacation achievements.

Official SEGA PC patch 1.20 (1 April 2024) is the latest numbered release located in this check. Its notes cover stability, battle-animation and text fixes. This is a verified reference baseline, not proof of the build installed on your PC.

Linebacker and Tennis Ace require the Special Job Set. Neither is required by these party plans. Sujimon & Resort Pack, outfits, music and consumable boosters do not add a second campaign.

The route uses fixed main-story outcomes. Dialogue, performance rewards and optional activity order do not produce alternate main endings. Level targets are preparation recommendations for a first Normal run; Hard/Legend are DLC replay modes.

Advanced-build research checked 9 October 2026. These deepen two existing build IDs; they do not add DLC requirements to the base campaign.

Recommendations describe strong documented combinations and practical progression, without claims of personal gameplay testing or a universal highest-damage ranking.

Wandering Dragon

Reach character level 10 with Kasuga. Normal early campaign fights and low-level substories suffice; job rank 10 is a separate statistic.

Resolute Dragon

Reach character level 30 with Kasuga. Follow side quests and appropriate Hawaiian Haunt sectors while keeping him in the active lineup. This is character level, not trainer level or job rank.

Apex Dragon

Reach character level 50 with Kasuga. The finale preparation and optional dungeons provide a natural route; if below 50 after the story, continue with the postgame training stop.

Legendary Dragon

Reach character level 70 with Kasuga. Without DLC, repeat useful Yokohama EX encounters and save level boosters for the last expensive levels. Master Vacation's Big Swell/NG+ offers another route. Keep character-XP equipment on only when its penalty is safe.

Superhuman

Raise one of Kasuga's six personality attributes to level 10. Use exams and unfinished Personality Challenges, then a relevant growth item if useful. One maxed stat does not satisfy the all-six achievement.

Metahuman

Raise all six Kasuga personality attributes to level 10. Prioritize the lowest remaining track, pass uncompleted exams and finish its challenge entries; cleanup can continue in Premium Adventure.

Renewed Purpose

Complete all eight Life Links. Follow Date's episodes in order as the story permits, and bring Soul, Tech and Body individually to at least 9 for the final chain. Prepare for the episode-8 level-44 fight.

Precious Memories

View 30 Memoirs of a Dragon as Kiryu. Start collecting the visible map icons in Chapter 8 and revisit districts as new chapters add memories. Collecting an unrelated item or raising Awakening alone does not count.

Abundant Memories

View 70 Memoirs of a Dragon. Continue the Ijincho and Kamurocho sweeps after later story unlocks, including the named memoir chains in the route. Finish remaining icons in Premium Adventure if needed.

Funk Goes On

Bring any one of Kiryu's Soul, Tech or Body tracks to its maximum, level 10. Memoirs, Part-Time Hero and Unfinished Business provide gains. Life Links still use the lowest of the three tracks for their separate gates.

Alo-Happy as Can Be

Experience the eight standard Alo-Happy activities. Meet the required personality levels and tour fees in the unlock checklist. The two Special Job Set DLC tours are not needed for this base-game target.

Side Hustle

Raise a job to rank 30. Main-job use through story and dungeon fights works; character level is not job rank. Keep a job-XP accessory if available and safe.

Mad Hustle

Raise three jobs to rank 30 across the roster. Train useful jobs while building transferable skills instead of forcing every job onto Kasuga. Check job ranks in the status/booth screens.

Ultimate Hustle

Raise seven jobs to rank 30 across the roster. Spread training among companions, use suitable job-XP accessories and dungeon encounters, then restore each character's intended boss loadout.

Pound for Pound

Use Poundmates 30 times in combat. Budget affordable calls over the campaign; repeatedly using an available summon counts. Calls by the two leaders contribute to the total, even though their challenge counters may be separate.

Something from Nothing

Craft ten pieces of gear at Julie's Gearworks. Creating inexpensive useful weapons advances the goal; enhancement levels on a single existing weapon are not ten new crafts.

Investing in the Future

Complete Julie's facility investments through rank 4. Thresholds are $2,000, $20,000 and $200,000 for ranks 2–4; account for progress already contributed through workshop use before paying the remaining amount.

Sujimaniac

Register 100 different RPG enemy types in the Sujidex. Fight varied street groups and dungeon sectors; the collectible Sujimon battle roster is a different system.

Sujimon Sensei

Register 200 different RPG enemy types in the Sujidex. Explore both countries and the optional dungeons, then check the record count. You do not need all 317 records or 200 captured Sujimon.

Dungeon Sweeper

Clear all forty floors of Yokohama Underground, including EX and the level-55 Amon Clan. The forced Chapter 10 introduction and floor-30 clear are insufficient.

Ruffians Beware

Clear all forty Hawaiian Haunt floors, including EX and the five Robo-Michios. The story tutorial and first three sectors do not finish this requirement.

Break It Up!

Win 20 Sujimon raid events. Fight the marked raids while moving between trainers; ordinary trainer battles and gacha pulls do not substitute. Finish remaining events after the league if necessary.

Suji League Champion

Complete every Sujimon-related substory through #42, Atop the Plateau. Defeat the Discreet Four and King, then survive the following level-31 normal-party fight and finish the resolution.

Sujimon Snag 'Em

Recruit ten Sujimon from battle recruitment opportunities. Complete the gift/acceptance sequence; gacha recruits do not count as battle recruits. Raids are useful opportunities.

Prize Fighter

Raise one Sujimon to level 50 and friendship 100. Advance the league to remove the level cap, then use training for levels and battle/farm interactions for friendship. One maximum without the other is insufficient.

Craftaholic

Craft 100 different DIY furnishings on Dondoko Island. Track new recipes in the catalogue; duplicate copies of the same object do not increase the distinct total. Recipes can be finished after reaching five stars.

Island Hospitality

Complete 100 guest stays at Dondoko Island. Keep lodging filled and finish the tours/check-outs; repeat visitors count, so finding 100 unique guests is unnecessary.

Dondoko A-Go-Go!

Run a TV advertisement on Dondoko Island. Reach three stars, speak to Subaru and buy the Local TV Commercial; merely unlocking advertising is insufficient.

Basking in Glory

Obtain the four-star resort rating: 28,000 satisfaction, 8,000 popularity, Cave and Forest cleared, then the rating inspection.

Dondoko Denouement

Finish the Dondoko Island story by qualifying for five stars and resolving the final pirate battle. Prepare island hearts and souvenirs; ordinary RPG level does not replace island equipment.

Having Fun Yet?

Play ten different minigames. The route combines Crazy Delivery, Sicko Snap, Miss Match, exams, karaoke, darts, a SEGA arcade title, batting, golf and Can Quest. High-score mastery of all ten is unnecessary.

License to Skill

Earn ten Ounabara certificates by passing different exams. Start with the free introductory test, choose familiar topics and use study aids when useful. Exams also support personality growth.

30 Mins or It's Free

Complete all four Crazy Delivery courses, unlocking each next difficulty through a successful clear. Learn a repeatable food/delivery route and protect the cargo instead of sacrificing every run to risky tricks.

Sicko Stopper

Clear the required score on every Sicko Snap course: Aloha Beach, Harbor Line and Night Street. Repeat to learn subject appearances and watch the course-clear indicator.

Photo Hunter

Complete thirty different Photo Rally targets after the Chapter 5 introduction. Use the board's specific subject and camera indicator; normal scenic pictures are not Photo Rally completions. Targets can come from more than one city.

Spirit of Aloha

Befriend fifty different Aloha Links contacts. Greet, help or supply the available contacts during Honolulu travel. The requirement is fifty people/contacts, not raising fifty relationships to their maximum.

Don't Hate the Player

Reach meetings with five different people through Miss Match. Finish the chat and timed portions; adjust the profile/subscription when the same contacts repeat. Matching alone does not satisfy a completed meeting.

Not a Total Waste

Find Ethereal Egesta in a toilet. Inspect the men's public toilet by Aloha Seaside restaurant. Obtaining the material from a shop or a different type of pickup is not the specified trigger.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Photograph a visible Honolulu rainbow after rain with the phone camera. Use the beach's open sky and act while it is still visible. This is separate from Photo Rally.

Infinite Wealth

Steam's meta-achievement for obtaining all achievements. It is present in the official PC roster. This guide tracks all 74 entries; check the platform's actual remaining unlocks. The base/DLC dependency of this meta flag was not separately certified.

Complete every task and escape

Six points within the time limit gives two Silver Plates and a Safe Key. The substory completes; later story events and endings are unchanged. This is the best documented reward tier.

Escape with partial credit

A lower-score escape gives a Silver Plate and Smoke Bomb. The same substory completion counts toward the 10/20/40 achievements, with no later story branch. Timing out instead gives only the Silver Plate; reload if you want to improve a one-time bonus.

One replay, then repeat the final boss

Community-reported method: complete NG+ on Legend, reload a retained pre-Ebina save, switch to Hard and finish again. Those reports say Hard and Legend do not stack automatically. The reload shortcut has not been independently verified for the current PC build; if it works, it reduces repetition, and the story ending is identical. Retain the save until both Steam unlocks are confirmed.

Separate full Hard and Legend runs

Finish one whole replay on each difficulty, keeping separate saves. This takes longer and avoids relying on the final-boss difficulty-switch method. It grants the same qualifying achievements and fixed ending.

Chapter 1 · Doin' the Best I Can

IN CAMPAIGN ORDER

Start in Ijincho with the story’s jobs

Start a new game on Normal and follow Ichiban through Ijincho. Use the story’s starting jobs. Job changes unlock in Chapter 5, where the guide will introduce the selected party plan.

The main story has one outcome; optional activities remain available later. Keep a separate manual save before long dungeons and performance tests.

Base-game players can complete the story and its side content. Big Swell, New Game+, Hard and Legend require Master Vacation. Special Job Set purchases are optional for every build here.

IN CAMPAIGN ORDER

Return to Ijincho and the date

1. Follow the apartment/Hello Work objectives, meet Hamako and visit Survive. Continue Saeko's date at the Silky Queen, then follow the time skips back to Hello Work. The date's awkward outcome is fixed; choose dialogue for the personality gain you prefer rather than trying to find a marriage branch.
2. After the Sasaki sequence, reconnect with Adachi and Nanba. Check the newly available equipment before approaching the Seiryu Clan entrance. Use nearby shops for healing and MP supplies instead of spending the entire balance on marginal armor.
Help preparing the opening party

Where to look: Follow the apartment, Hello Work and Survive objectives until the opening party is together. Before the Seiryu approach, inspect everyone’s current equipment and supplies.

What to do: Refill useful healing and MP items without spending the whole balance. In the next small fight, move to a target’s rear or use an available grapple when its guard blocks ordinary attacks.

What should happen: The party reaches the next objective supplied, and guarded enemies can be damaged without repeatedly wasting the same frontal attack.

If it does not work: If a tactic is unavailable, check the active character’s current skills and position. Later jobs are not required for the opening; use the tools already present in this party.

Massive Massage Machine

Love Magic sells this early electric weapon for ¥3,600. Its paralysis utility makes it worth checking if your current job can equip it.

3. Position near environmental objects for basic attacks, circle guarded enemies for back attacks, and use Adachi's grapple when a target keeps blocking. Reserve MP for enemies whose guard or weakness makes ordinary attacks inefficient.

SUGGESTED PLAN · Hero and two safety nets

Opening trio

  • Ichiban Hero, Adachi Detective, Nanba Homeless Guy; use Adachi's grapple on guard and Nanba's magic for coverage.
  • Carry recovery items on the whole team; do not let Ichiban enter a new wave critically injured.

Use these choices when the required level, resource or unlock is available. Opening this section does not change your character.

PLAY & BUILD COACHING

Before entering the waterway

Prepare the opening trio: Ichiban, Adachi and Nanba. Restore their HP and MP and carry the healing supplies available to you. Use current jobs and attacks; keep Ichiban healthy and check the damage preview before spending MP.

1. Buy a Bottle of Sake at Poppo on Tsurukame Highway for the homeless-camp lead. Complete the Radio Active introduction en route. Enter the waterway prepared around level 5.
2. Search the ladder branch for a Safe Key, then open the nearby safe before continuing. Use the recovery/save opportunity before entering the headquarters battle sequence.
Help finishing the supply and safe-key route

Where to look: Check Poppo on Tsurukame Highway for the Bottle of Sake needed by the homeless-camp lead. In the waterway, inspect the ladder branch before continuing.

What to do: Complete the sake hand-in, collect the Safe Key and open the nearby safe. Use the recovery/save opportunity to refill the trio before the headquarters sequence.

What should happen: The lead advances, the safe has been opened and the party is restored before the next encounter. Picking up a key does not collect the safe’s contents.

If it does not work: If access is stalled, reread the current sake objective and speak to its contact with the bottle available. If the safe is still locked, search the ladder branch rather than using the next story exit.

Sources for this explanation

A grapple is a grabbing skill that can bypass guard. In this opening party, check Adachi’s Skills for Monkey Flip. Alternatively move behind the guarding enemy before choosing an attack. Check the hit result instead of repeatedly spending MP on the same blocked frontal move.

3. Break guard with a grapple or a rear attack. When reinforcements arrive, remove the weakest threats before pouring damage into the durable target. Keep the leader healthy enough to survive a full enemy turn.

Checkpoint End of chapter

Check loot and refill MP before leaving the dungeon sequence. The automatic chapter completion unlocks Back in Action. Continue to .

PLAY & BUILD COACHING

First progression target

Enter around level 5 with supplies and use grapple/back attacks to break guarded positions. Preserve Ichiban's HP and MP. Job ranks and broader party combinations arrive through the story; no early grinding can make the Chapter-5 booth exist sooner.

4. Keep weapon bases and useful accessories. Sell designated valuables when you need cash; do not empty your equipment inventory just because a new weapon has a higher number. Several endgame recipes consume named earlier weapons.

Coverage, version notes and sources

Not a catalogue of every container, all 317 enemy records, every Photo Rally board or every Dondoko guest/furnishing.
