Single-source build exception
Do not assume every duplicate buff stacks
The current Gobfin plan relies on a dataset-reported Angry Shark stacking exception. The official 1.0 notes say almost all duplicate partner effects no longer stack.
That specific exception and its damage totals were not independently tested.
Players report awards after changing world settings, but that does not verify every server or modifier. Hard world difficulty and Hard Mode tower encounters are separate choices.

Player gunfire with shield and active-Pal support
Forgiving Gun and Support Team
Build a dependable gun, shield and ammunition supply before chasing perfect passive rolls. You contribute aimed fire while an elemental counter fights beside you, then add party protection and recovery as available. The finished unique-species support shell improves reliability, but an ordinary early Pal team and appropriate defensive equipment already express the plan.
Learning curveApproachable
Aim and evasion are familiar; individual party conditions and ammunition supply still matter.
Choose this when you wantLearning towers and bosses · Player shooting with a useful active Pal · A forgiving mature party
Reconsider if: Perfect-roll breeding before basic gear; Keeping one elemental attacker for every target.
What you actually do
A practical rhythm, from preparation to payoff.
1
Fire and reposition
Let the active Pal engage, aim a short burst and move before the retaliation. Reload with space while preserving the Pal’s uptime rather than standing still to empty magazines.
2
Prepare the next target
Change the counter for the actual enemy, refill ammunition and check all support conditions. Keep shield, armor and healing current before spending on perfect passive rolls.
Illustrative play example
Illustrative encounter
Illustrative tower attempt: your selected elemental Pal engages while you fire a short accurate burst and move out of the next attack. The shield takes one mistake, so you make distance instead of shooting through the entire follow-up. After a safe reload, you continue alongside the active Pal. Before the next tower, the counter changes and the unique-species condition is checked again. This describes a forgiving loop without claiming a tested clear or universal support-team ranking.
FROM A REALISTIC START TO THE PAYOFF
Your progression path
Read in order. Each stage explains what makes the next step practical.
1Opening
Survival before firearms
Use useful early catches, an elemental counter and travel utility while developing health, stamina and carrying capacity. Keep armor, shield and healing relevant. The style begins with reliable ranged contribution; player Attack becomes a higher priority after a sustainable gun exists.
2First payoff
Gun and ammunition pipeline
Unlock a firearm you can continuously supply and pair it with a trained active attacker. Land brief accurate bursts, evade and reload safely. A stronger schematic is a useful upgrade only when ammunition and repairs can support it across the next intended trip.
3Mature
Unique support shell
Work toward Silvegis, Celesdir, Solenne and Orserk with a distinct counter/travel slot. Shield support, recovery and landed-bullet active-Pal buffs serve separate roles. Check each condition and keep all species different when relying on Solenne; the lineup is a researched adaptation, not a mandatory optimum.

Strengths, tradeoffs & requirements
Strengths
Reliable player/Pal contribution
Shield and recovery support mistakes
Adaptable fifth slot
Tradeoffs
Ammunition consumes base output
Late supports delay full assembly
Party conditions can break after casual swaps
Plan around these requirements
Current shield/armor and healing
Sustainable firearm ammunition
Trained elemental active Pal
Unique-species support condition for Solenne
Pals
The supporting roles that make this style work.
Silvegis
Supports player shield survival while in the party.
Celesdir
Provides party health recovery.
Orserk
Landed bullets build support for the fighting Pal.
Solenne plus distinct counter
Maintains the unique-species Attack condition and covers the matchup.
CARRIED INTO YOUR WALKTHROUGH
What to prioritize
Build ammunition before gun upgrades
Schedule support acquisition as late goals
Show counter and unique-species checks before towers
Can you change your mind? Party members swap at the Palbox; matchups should change routinely. A new weapon needs technology and ammunition, while condensation/passive investment stays with each Pal. Use current stat-reset options when unlocked; retain survival values appropriate to the world settings.
Source-based strategy

Reviewed plans and corrections
Forgiving gun and support team · Retained. Support-and-gun concept uses current distinct-species and bullet-support mechanics. It is explicitly an adaptation rather than a claim that its five-Pal lineup is a benchmarked optimum.
Elemental Pal commander · Retained. Elemental attackers, strengthening and roster-specific preparation remain a viable direction. Nothing examined establishes this general approach as obsolete; it is not a tested Hard/Arena tier ranking.
Advanced hybrid — Explosive archer and weak-point hunter · Retained. Official 1.0 and current PalMods data support Loomen explosions with Robinquill/Terra bow bonuses and a distinct Solenne party. No duplicate-stack exploit is needed.
Production and breeding first · Retained. A current-recipe production/breeding progression is a valid noncombat priority. The guide keeps a functional combat roster and does not pretend production skips campaign gates.
Advanced hybrid — Burn and firearm detonation · Retained. The Renjishi/Ignis/Flaracle combination is an official 1.0 example, elaborated by the current Burn guide. Keep burn-susceptible-target and distinct-species conditions; do not remove it as an obsolete exploit.
Elemental Gobfin Gunner · Retained. Angry Shark is explicitly same-species stackable in current 1.0 data, despite the general duplicate-skill restriction. Four sharks plus a mounted converter remains documented; exclude Solenne.
Outdated or unsupported advice excluded
The Solenne Burn/bow parties use unique species; the duplicate-Gobfin alternative omits Solenne.
Old universal partner-skill stacking is not assumed. Angry Shark is a documented exception.

Authored coaching synthesized from this guide's existing route, builds and source bibliography. This date records the data/anchor review, not fresh verification of every linked page or hands-on gameplay. Facts are entered manually; recommendations do not read the game save, certify achievement unlocks, or cover every possible state. Existing coverage limits: The guide covers the complete verified normal story through the World Tree ending, major free-update systems, all normal raid families, Hard-tower/Arena preparation and all 75 current Steam achievement names. It does not enumerate every Pal, passive roll, furniture piece, schematic drop or optional minor request. Bulk effigy and Note cleanup uses linked current interactive maps for individual pins. The twelve rare Relaxaurus/Lunaris/Yakumo pickups have local route instructions; the hundreds of common collectible locations are not reproduced as a native map. Builds are practical progression plans, not guaranteed speedrun or maximum-damage solutions for every custom setting. Ultra/Master raid variants and later Hard bosses receive preparation/phase guidance; exhaustive frame-by-frame strategies and every rare reward are outside this edition. Coordinates and enemy levels use current 1.0 sources where verified. Faction installations, dungeon availability and loot rolls can vary; in-game quest markers, recipe previews and reward lists take precedence after a later patch. PC Steam achievement names are authoritative here. Some console lists use different wording or counts, and imported Early Access saves can carry old progression states; current patches and fresh-world routing are the baseline. No gameplay testing or timed DPS benchmark was performed. Difficulty, custom world damage settings, accuracy, schematic rarity and ammunition supply can change which plan is stronger. The official Steam announcement rendered only a minimal page in this research tool; its linked SteamDB reproduction supplied the readable 1.0 text. Current database claims are attributed to their fan-maintained sources rather than presented as developer guarantees. Rare schematic drop pools are acquisition leads, not guaranteed drops. The builds remain functional with common technology crafts and ordinary defensive accessories. Three Shot Bow explosion multiplicity, shotgun-pellet proc multiplication and autonomous-drone ownership are not prerequisites. No patched or unverified infinite interaction is recommended. This addition does not replace raid-army preparation, unlock achievements through breeding alone, or claim that one elemental party works through every boss phase.

Progression plan
Forgiving gun and support team
A practical first-run plan that adds shield protection and regeneration, then uses unique support Pals to sustain accurate gunfire. It favors a complete reliable loadout over perfect rolls. This team is the guide’s adaptation; the linked shield-build article may show a different current lineup. Check each Pal’s actual active/passive support condition.
Start with this setup
Normal/custom survival settings; start with health, enough stamina for repeated dodges and enough weight for ordinary supply trips. Add Attack once you own a sustainable firearm; let workers cover Work Speed.
Keep a Ground counter, Foxparks, a travel/utility Pal and flexible catches early. Replace the counter for each tower instead of copying one elemental team across the entire game.
Late target: Silvegis, Celesdir, Solenne, Orserk and one counter/travel slot, all different species. Shield and regeneration make recovery more forgiving; bullet hits support the active Pal.
Improve armor and shield together. Carry an accurate ranged weapon, healing and a reserve of its ammunition. A rare weapon without its ammunition pipeline is not the next upgrade.
Preview this plan from the beginning to the endgame · 10 stages
Cloth Outfit, , and repaired bow; catch and level Gumoss/Rushoar or a cave Fuddler.
Use Ground damage against Grizzbolt. Recall an injured Pal, shelter from the beam and resume shooting once it passes.
Complete Handiwork Speed 1 and 2; route toward Sphere Duplication Technique 1 and Ammunition Duplication Technique 1.
Start the loop but keep most metal for equipment, repair supplies and the next furnace.
Treat the existing gun team as a flexible adaptation of the shield-support concept. Prioritize the highest practical shield, then strengthen Silvegis for shield protection and Celesdir for passive recovery before optimizing damage in every remaining slot. Keep Solenne's distinct-species condition satisfied. Fight an ordinary dangerous target and watch whether your shield returns during the windows you actually create by retreating. If it does not, improve positioning and recovery uptime before buying more damage. Keep a counter-element Pal or a utility mount in the flexible slot when the route needs it. Do not duplicate support partners expecting their effects to stack without checking the current skill description.
Use for shots from cover; switch to Makeshift SMG when the ammo line can sustain it.
Craft heat protection, gather Sulfur and prepare Ice/Ground coverage for Axel; do not reload while standing in a telegraphed attack.
Use a gold-only passive upgrade if a dependable Pal lacks damage or defense; preserve valuable inherited traits.
Keep identical useful schematics for the level-45 Drafting Table. Upgrade armor when survival fails and the weapon when the timer fails.
Deliver spare Wumpo for Grenade Launcher Schematic 2 and Plasteel Helmet Schematic 2 when the local request is available.
Take a developed Dragon attacker; maintain ranged pressure while it draws attention, then recall it before heavy damage.
An Easygoing Yakumo turn-in supplies Semi-Auto Shotgun Schematic 2 and Rocket Launcher Schematic 2; use a spare Pal.
Build oil/Plasteel production and carry a precise weapon alongside explosives so flying targets and weak points remain manageable.
Capture Silvegis in Shield Dragon Tunnel, then level-65 Celesdir near (-965, -1176).
Condense these keepers as spare copies become available, preserving breeders. Their different support roles complement each other.
Catch Solenne and Orserk in the World Tree; retain Silvegis and Celesdir, then choose one active elemental counter.
Use repeated bullet hits to support your fighting Pal. Keep five different species when using Solenne. Most duplicate Partner Skill effects do not stack, while current build data lists Gobfin's Angry Shark as an exception; that is a different party plan, not an extra bonus to this Solenne team.
Spend the first compatible Awakening Crystal on a keeper you will use through the guardians.
Upgrade toward Paloxite firearms when the current technology and resource chain support their ammunition; finish shield and armor first if your health repeatedly collapses.
Select Orserk as main with two trained area attackers such as Shaolong and Ophydia; do not fill fighting slots with passive-only travel supports.
Aim reliable rapid hits at a vulnerable enemy, direct the team toward the tamer and keep moving inside the two-minute limit.
Your completion route: Finish the World Tree story, then use the same world for the normal raid ladder, Hard tower targets, Arena and 75-achievement cleanup. Rare schematics, perfect breeding and optional challenge variants are separate projects.
Changing your plan keeps your saved achievements, quest choices and checklists. Required respecs, unlocks and later equipment are explained at their route steps.

Palworld left Early Access on 9/10 July 2026. Steam lists 9 July; Pocketpair's worldwide announcement uses 10 July. The latest patch visible in the official news feed on review is v1.0.5, released 14 September.
Current progression differs substantially from Early Access: level cap 80, five captures per species bonus, condensation requirements reduced from 116 to 48, work suitability expanded to ten levels and reworked Pal breeding/partner skills.
Most duplicate-species Partner Skill effects no longer stack in 1.0, but this is not a universal ban: current build data lists Gobfin's Angry Shark as a stackable exception. Solenne still requires five different species, so duplicate Gobfins do not fit its party. Tower encounters use a five-minute limit; Hard Mode access requires the Azure Covenant Tower boss. Do not reuse obsolete breeding recipes.
Sakurajima, Feybreak, Tides of Terraria, Home Sweet Home and 1.0 content are free game updates. The separately listed Steam DLC is the soundtrack, not a required paid story expansion.
Advanced plans reviewed on 9 October 2026 against the released 1.0 rules and current build/recipe databases. They extend the published guide's 1.0-era progression and do not require paid DLC.
Pocketpair's 1.0 changelog itself presents explosive bows and the Renjishi/Jormuntide Ignis/Flaracle status combination. Current specialist guides supply the complete parties; these are documented recommendations rather than a universal, independently benchmarked ranking.
The Gobfin correction distinguishes the official almost-all non-stacking rule from the documented Angry Shark exception. The Burn and explosive-bow parties retain Solenne's five-unique-species condition; the duplicate-Gobfin party is a separate alternative without Solenne.
Research baseline checked 10 October 2026: 1.0.5. Released; 1.0 campaign and World Tree ending available. Platform parity and player-configured world rates were not tested.

Beginning of the Legend
Catch one living Pal with a sphere during the opening tutorial. Picking up an egg or merely seeing a Pal is not the instructed trigger; any later ordinary capture can complete it.
Newbie Pal Tamer
Catch ten different Pal kinds. Duplicate Lamballs still count as one kind; expand through the starter habitats. This remains available in the continuing world.
Intermediate Pal Tamer
Catch twenty different Pal kinds through the island circuit. Check the Palpedia for unregistered kinds instead of repeating one species; no story deadline.
Hillside Sovereign
Defeat Zoe and Grizzbolt at the Rayne Syndicate Tower. Follow the Small Settlement/Foxparks story gate, bring Ground attacks, and finish within the current five-minute limit.
Skilled Pal Tamer
Catch fifty different Pal kinds. Add dungeon, night and new-region catches while progressing; the requirement is kinds, not fifty total individuals, and can be finished later.
Forest Sovereign
Defeat Lily and Lyleen in the current Free Pal Alliance tower route. Complete the investigation, bring Fire damage and use the explicit normal encounter; no Hard-world preset is required.
Seasoned Pal Tamer
Catch ninety different Pal kinds. Mainland, volcano, desert and mountain circuits provide the progression base; finish any missing entries after the story if needed.
Freshman Surveyor
Discover ten named areas by entering them. Revealing map terrain alone is not the planned trigger; visit new regions and activate travel points while passing through.
Inhuman Act
Successfully capture one human with a sphere. Use an isolated hostile faction member, stop lethal attacks at low health and keep throwing; defeating one or recruiting Zoe through quests does not replace this capture.
Volcano Sovereign
Defeat Axel and Orserk at the Eternal Pyre Tower after the volcanic investigation. Bring Ice or Ground pressure and heat-safe travel gear; the normal victory counts.
Rookie Pal Slayer
Obtain five different Alpha Pal Bounty Tokens from distinct field/dungeon Alpha targets. Repeating one easy boss for the same token is not this route. Human bounty currency is a different item.
Desert Sovereign
Defeat Marcus and Faleris at the PIDF Tower after the Duneshelter investigation. Use Water and reliable ranged attacks; normal story completion satisfies it.
Junior Surveyor
Discover thirty named areas. Enter missing zones during desert/mainland circuits; it remains available after the ending and does not require thirty separate character saves.
Astral Sovereign
Defeat Victor and Shadowbeak at the PAL Genetic Research Unit Tower. Complete the Kitsun/researcher investigation and use a prepared Dragon attacker; normal victory counts.
Conqueror of the Sea
Seize the eastern Rayne Syndicate oil rig and open its large main golden chest. Looting small boxes or merely boarding the rig is not enough; return later with stronger gear if needed.
Successful Infiltration
Clear one full enemy faction installation and open its large goal chest. A small roadside captive camp or an anti-air terminal is not a substitute; complete any appropriate base later if skipped.
Alpha Pal Slayer
Obtain twenty different Alpha Pal Bounty Tokens. Track distinct named tokens and seek missing Alpha targets instead of farming one species twenty times; this is repeatable-world cleanup.
Iron Heart
Craft and collect 10,000 ingots through a sustained ore/furnace pipeline. Purchased metal and unfinished queue orders are not the planned route; continue after the story if short.
Legendary Celestial Dragon
Catch Jetragon at its current Sunreach location near (-553, -1332), level 70. Use Ice, stop lethal attacks and throw suitable spheres; killing it alone is insufficient, but the encounter can be retried.
Predator Hunter
Defeat one Predator Pal, identifiable by its dangerous red-aura encounter. Current 1.0 spawns are not the obsolete fixed-location circuit; update past the 1.0.2 achievement fix before diagnosing a failure.
Legendary Steed of Ice
Catch Frostallion in the Astral Mountains near (-357, 509). Bring Fire and high-tier spheres, then recall attackers at low health. A kill alone does not satisfy the capture condition.
Blossom Sovereign
Defeat Saya and Selyne at the Moonflower Tower after the katana/shrine investigation. Use a trained Dragon attacker and current equipment; normal story victory is enough.
Twilight Siren
Defeat a Bellanoir summoned from its ordinary slab. Use Dragon damage and the Raid Area. This is the raid victory, not catching a field Pal or merely hatching the reward egg.
Pal Labor Student
Complete ten Pal Labor Research projects at the lab. Spending Technology points is separate. Start early and keep the queue running; no ending deadline.
Senior Surveyor
Discover seventy named areas across the expanded world. Visit map gaps on the mainland, Sunreach and World Tree; revealing the map or merely owning seventy travel points is not the stated condition.
Exceptional Pal Tamer
Catch 140 different Pal kinds. Audit missing Palpedia entries, use day/night/fishing habitats and current breeding leads; this is a subset of the full roster and remains available after the ending.
Novice Pal Dispatcher
Undertake ten Pal Expeditions from the expedition station. Choose unlocked routes, meet firepower and collect completed returns before redispatching; ordinary map exploration is not an expedition.
Holy Knight of Legend
Catch Paladius in the northeastern desert legendary encounter. Use Dark pressure for the Neutral target and stop attackers before the final blow; killing the knight alone does not satisfy it.
Dark Knight of Legend
Catch Necromus in the northeastern desert legendary encounter. Dragon pressure and a nighttime approach can help separate it from Paladius; this is a capture, not just a kill.
All for One
Maximize one individual Pal's condenser rank to four stars. Current ordinary donor costs total 48 beyond the keeper. Character level, Trust and Awakening are separate systems; donors are consumed.
Feybreak Sovereign
Defeat Bjorn and Bastigor at Feybreak Tower. Obtain the three required named Alpha tokens first, then bring Fire damage and cold protection. The normal story fight satisfies the achievement.
Best Friends Forever
Reach Trust level ten with one retained Pal. Keep it in the party and use interactions/Kinship Peaches; condensation does not replace relationship progress, and a replacement individual has its own Trust.
Overhunting
Catch 1,000 total Pals. Duplicate captures contribute to this cumulative goal; spread catches for the five-per-species bonus first, then use cheap low-level catches for any remaining total.
Eclipsed Siren
Defeat summoned Bellanoir Libero with its own slab. Prepare Dragon for Dark and Fire for its revived Ice phase. Ordinary Bellanoir is different; Ultra is unnecessary.
Elite Pal Dispatcher
Undertake twenty Pal Expeditions, collecting returns and assigning another unlocked route. Keep essential workers home and use spare trained Pals; the count can finish after the story.
Novice Angler
Personally reel in ten Pals with rod and bait. Learn the minigame in low-tier waters; base Fishing Pond output is not the manual route used for this achievement.
Sunreach Sovereign
Defeat Auri and Shaolong at the Azure Covenant Tower after deactivating six Sunreach barrier sources. Bring developed Ice/Electric coverage and answer the water mechanics; this normal clear also unlocks Hard tower rematches.
Meddling With Mutation
Produce and hatch a mutated Pal from the breeding system. Advanced cake improves the relevant odds; this is a random-outcome project, distinct from Awakening, with no story deadline.
Legendary Ocean King
Catch Panthalus during its low-health capture opportunity in the story encounter. Defeating the fight without claiming the Pal does not follow the required gate; bring a sphere and use the scripted capture window.
Lunker Hunter
Reel in one Lunker from a suitable fishing spot. Use an appropriate rod, bait and fishing support; it is a special catch condition, not any visually large species.
To the World Tree
Enter the World Tree after completing the Panthalus/Guardian route and opening its barrier. Reaching the distant exterior or viewing it from a mount is not the story-entry trigger.
Pal Labor Researcher
Complete thirty Pal Labor Research projects. Maintain material/manuscript production while exploring; this counts finished research nodes, not technologies bought or assignments merely queued.
Sphere Craftsman
Craft and collect 2,000 spheres. Basic current Pal Spheres need one Paldium Fragment and are an inexpensive cleanup option; purchased/looted stock is not the instructed manufacturing route.
Incarnation of the Eternal Flame
Defeat summoned Blazamut Ryu on normal. Use Water in the first phase and Ground after its Electric resurrection. A Blazamut field fight or the first empty health bar is insufficient.
Voice of Resentment
Maximize the condenser rank of five individual Pals. Develop useful fighters/supports and protect parents before selecting donors; finish the remaining keepers in the same continuing world.
Silver Champ
Reach Silver rank in solo Arena Challenge mode. Earn enough wins for the promotion display; a multiplayer opponent and the Hard world preset are unnecessary.
Senior Adventurer
Clear twenty dungeons by finishing their boss and reward/exit sequence. Combine the repeatable runs with equipment, technology books and Pal collection; entering a cave alone is not a clear.
Palpagos Guru
Obtain fifty Lifmunk Effigies under the current Steam requirement. Spend them normally at a Statue of Power and continue the same collection toward one hundred; do not use the old 255-effigy target.
Savior of Palpagos
Defeat Zenara and Astralym at the World Tree climax after the three guardian objectives and eight keys. Finish the weak-point interruptions and final damage race; the world continues afterward for cleanup.
Blood and Iron
Craft and collect 20,000 ammunition through production. Sustain the required ingredients and count finished output; buying bullets for combat does not replace the crafting project.
A Nose for Treasure
Read Treasure Maps, travel to their marked search locations and dig up five treasures. Using five maps without collecting the finds is insufficient; no shovel technology or second world is required.
Seasoned Angler
Personally reel in thirty Pals. Continue the low-risk manual fishing route and upgrade rod/bait for harder spots; no story deadline or special thirty-species roster is required.
Invader from Space
Defeat summoned Xenolord with the correct slab. Prepare Ice/Dragon coverage and an army that can handle adds and meteors; meteor-event Xenogard is a different encounter, and Ultra is optional.
Hidden Potential
Use a compatible Awakening Crystal on one retained Pal. This consumes the crystal and is separate from mutation, condensation and the finale mission's name; can be completed before or after the ending.
Pal Labor Professor
Complete seventy Pal Labor Research projects. Keep the lab working on funded nodes through the long crafting/raid cleanup; there is no story deadline and buying technologies does not count.
No-Fly Zone
Destroy the Attack Chopper triggered by the caged main chest on the western level-60 oil rig. Use that specific encounter; current wanted-level choppers are not a reliable substitute.
Veteran Angler
Personally reel in fifty Pals. Record successful manual catches; use fishing support and a rod/bait suited to the chosen water. Continue after the story if normal travel left you short.
Unstoppable Streak
Clear ten enemy faction bases and collect their large goal chests. These are full installations, not ten anti-air turrets or captive cages; complete the remaining clears in the continuing world.
King of Salvation
Defeat a summoned Hartalis. Prepare Electric/Fire barrier coverage in its opening form and Dark for the Neutral phase. Normal victory counts; Moon Lord and a wild Hartalis are different objectives.
Palpagos Guardian
Obtain one hundred Lifmunk Effigies. Sweep missing current-map pins with Nox and check elevation. Previously spent obtained effigies are normal progression; no second character is needed.
Champion of the Palpagos Islands
Defeat six different Hard Mode tower encounters. After normal Auri unlocks rematches, choose Hard at each door and clear Zoe, Lily, Axel, Marcus, Victor and Saya; changing world difficulty alone is insufficient.
Island Traveler
Collect all four Relaxaurus Effigies at Obsidian coast, Dancing Sakura Shrine, northern Astral Mountains and Desiccated Dunes. The local route gives coordinates; turn them in for the EXP track afterward.
World Tree Guru
Collect twenty Cattiva Effigies in the World Tree. Switch the linked map to that region, search separate branch/terrain levels and record pickups; all remain part of the continuing world.
Forest Traveler
Collect all four Lunaris Effigies using the local coordinate/elevation route. This is a statue collection, not four caught Lunaris; turn in the set for Sphere Tracking afterward.
Sunreach Guru
Collect twenty Depresso Effigies around Sunreach. Complete barrier/travel access first and use a reliable flying route; the achievement does not require every mapped placement.
Trail of the Castaway
Obtain forty distinct Notes from the world's journal objects. Check the journal for missing entries and use current map filters; rereading one object does not supply another distinct Note.
Sakurajima Guru
Collect twenty Herbil Effigies on Sakurajima. Sweep a local loop from unlocked statues and use Nox to locate nearby objects; finish in the same world after the tower if preferred.
World Traveler
Collect all four Yakumo Effigies: Feybreak structure, Sunreach shrine, World Tree lakeside building and World Tree Anubis statue. Two separate World Tree pickups are required; use the local route.
Forest Guru
Collect twenty Lamball Effigies in the forest regions. Use the current species filter and mark pickups; capturing twenty Lamballs is a different system.
Desert Guru
Collect twenty Munchill Effigies in the desert. Pack temperature protection and sweep from nearby travel points; the target is statues obtained, not Pal captures or research projects.
Snowy Mountain Guru
Collect twenty Rooby Effigies in the snowy mountain region. Bring cold protection and search elevated ledges; this collection remains available after the ending.
Volcano Guru
Collect twenty Pengullet Effigies in the volcano region. Bring heat-safe equipment and mark pickups on the current map; do not confuse these with fishing catches.
Feybreak Guru
Collect twenty Tanzee Effigies on Feybreak. Clear local anti-air coverage before relying on a flying circuit; the achievement requires twenty of the regional statues.
Arena Champion
Reach Master rank in solo Arena Challenge mode. Upgrade the three selected fighters and keep winning through the earlier promotions; merely winning one high-level match is not the rank trigger.
Arena Legend
Reach Legend rank in Arena Challenge mode. Use a developed level-80 party, appropriate main Partner Skill and accurate player contribution inside the two-minute timer; remains available after the story.

Strengthen the keeper now
Donor Pals are permanently consumed and the chosen individual gains rank. This advances All for One and later Voice of Resentment; losing a rare parent can delay a desired breeding line. The story is unchanged.
Keep parents and donors
You retain breeding/passive options and delay the immediate rank increase. Both rank achievements remain available later in the same world.

Capture for Inhuman Act
Consumes spheres and records a captured human, granting Inhuman Act on the first success. It can also advance Zoe's faction objective. This does not recruit a different story ending.
Defeat and continue
Defeating the required enemies advances Zoe's request with less capture preparation, but does not grant Inhuman Act. That achievement can be completed later on another hostile human.

Extra ordinary eggs
Vegetable prioritizes more eggs for a useful species and condensation. It spends farming output on volume; mutation and inheritance projects wait. No story or achievement is permanently lost.
Mutation hunt
Extravagant Vegetable spends the higher-tier ingredients on improved mutation odds. A successful mutated hatch advances Meddling With Mutation; unsuccessful cycles still leave ordinary useful offspring.
Preserve prepared traits
Special increases the chance of inheriting multiple passive skills from prepared parents, including unwanted ones. Active skills are separately inherited at random from the parents' three equipped active-skill slots. Neither rule guarantees an arbitrary perfect offspring.

Awaken the current keeper
Consumes the crystal, strengthens a compatible retained Pal and grants Hidden Potential on the first use. Later replacement would need another investment; the next story fights benefit immediately.
Reserve for a better keeper
Preserves the crystal until breeding/capture produces the desired individual. Guardian progression can continue with ordinary preparation, and the achievement remains available later.
Use the Raid Area or an empty raid base · UndecidedUse the Raid Area or an empty raid baseCompare approaches, requirements and trade-offs
Protected Raid Area
The summon consumes its slab but the productive base stays outside the encounter and the altar remains afterward. Normal raid victories still grant their achievements and rewards.
Summon at a combat base
The slab and altar are consumed, and attacks can damage nearby structures/Pals. This allows an intentionally prepared base battlefield but grants no exclusive story outcome or required achievement.

IN CAMPAIGN ORDER
Create a world, then make the first capture
Begin here: The title screen, before creating the world.
1. Open the new-world flow from Start Game and choose Create New World. Name the world, then decide whether it will be your solo game or a multiplayer world. For a first learning run, solo keeps the setup simple; co-op readers should agree which world to share.
2. Start a fresh PC world on the current 1.0 build. Normal is the baseline for the route; Easy or a custom death penalty makes recovery less costly. Hard reduces the player's damage and capture rate, so use the Pal-led plan and exceed the suggested tower level before spending supplies on repeated attempts. Hardcore is a separate survival commitment with permanent-loss settings; it is unnecessary for this checklist. Read the actual preset before confirming.
3. Read the death-penalty setting before confirming the world. It describes what you leave behind when you die; choose the recovery cost you want. Make your character when prompted. There is no permanent combat class to choose here: weapons, Pals and technology shape the plan later.
4. Finish the introduction and wait until your character stands in the starting area. Follow the next section for the first statue and tools before trying to fight or capture a Pal.
Choose the death penalty and world rules you want in the game, then continue to . Your selected style will introduce equipment and useful Pals along this route.
On an imported world, compare the actual Journey progress and unlocked technology with each step. A previous tower visit does not by itself confirm the current story key.

1. Activate the Great Eagle Statue beside the starting ruins, around (240, -512), and speak to the survivor nearby. Follow the Survival Guide prompt. Gather loose Wood and Stone before placing a Primitive Workbench on clear ground. Make a Stone Axe and Stone Pickaxe, then spend the first stat point to clear the tutorial.
PLAY & BUILD COACHING
Your first stat points
Start with health, enough stamina to dodge repeatedly, and carrying capacity for a normal resource trip. Let Pals supply most Work Speed. Add player Attack when the gun or bow plan has a weapon worth amplifying; a Pal-led player benefits more from surviving long enough to direct the fight.
2. Mine the small blue rocks near water for Paldium Fragments. Unlock Pal Spheres in Technology, craft a starter batch, and weaken a low-level Lamball or Cattiva before throwing. Recall your active Pal as the target approaches defeat. A back strike helps, but avoid starting a fight beside a high-level Mammorest.
Help making the first capture
Where to look: At the starting ruins, activate the Great Eagle Statue and inspect the Survival Guide’s current objective. Search the small blue deposits near water for Paldium.
What to do: Unlock and craft basic Pal Spheres, weaken a suitable low-level target and throw. Recall an attacking Pal when the target is close to defeat.
What should happen: A successful capture adds the Pal to your collection and advances the relevant capture counter. Defeating it is a different result.
If it does not work: If you cannot craft a sphere, check the current Technology unlock and the live recipe. If targets keep falling before capture, stop companion attacks earlier and choose another manageable low-level encounter.
Current basic recipe: one Paldium Fragment. Older Wood-and-Stone sphere recipes are obsolete. Craft enough for several tries, then replenish before leaving the beach.
3. Catch five Lamballs for the species capture bonus, completing the active tutorial objective as its counter directs you. Catch several distinct small species as well. Keep the best individual and an opposite-sex partner; mark surplus copies separately. Collect berries and eat before hunger empties.
4. Build a Palbox on a broad, flat patch close enough to the first statue to recover easily. Place it where the entire base circle can hold a furnace, farm, beds and future large Pals.
PLAY & BUILD COACHING
Two short starting trips
First bring loose Wood and Stone back for the bench and tools. On the second loop, mine blue Paldium rocks, return to craft spheres, then catch low-level Pals close to the statue. Deposit heavy materials before extending west toward Small Settlement. This keeps your recovery route short while you learn aiming, recall and sphere timing.
Checkpoint· Experience versus collection
In current 1.0, the useful early capture-bonus cycle is five of a species, then another species; the old twelve-capture target is obsolete. Newbie Pal Tamer instead needs ten different kinds. Read both the species bonus and Palpedia rather than treating repeated Lamballs as ten distinct entries.

Update earned achievements (optional)
Beginning of the Legend
Catch one living Pal with a sphere during the opening tutorial. Picking up an egg or merely seeing a Pal is not the instructed trigger; any later ordinary capture can complete it.
Newbie Pal Tamer
Catch ten different Pal kinds. Duplicate Lamballs still count as one kind; expand through the starter habitats. This remains available in the continuing world.
Start with the Palbox’s displayed base objectives. Complete its next small construction requirements to expand worker capacity; do not expect the entire specialist list to fit at the initial rank. Follow the buildings and slots actually unlocked in your world, then prove the berry cycle once planting, watering, gathering and transport are available.
1. Deploy workers through the Palbox. Lamball handles simple craft and transport jobs; add a planting Pal such as Lifmunk or Tanzee, a Watering Pal such as Pengullet, a gathering worker, and Foxparks for Kindling as you catch them. Inspect each Pal's current suitability icons instead of relying on early-access ranks.
2. Place a Feed Box, a bed for every deployed worker, your own sheltered bed, storage beside workstations, a Berry Plantation, and a Hot Spring when its technology opens. A plantation needs planting, watering and gathering coverage. Watch a complete growing cycle before assuming the farm feeds itself.
3. Upgrade the base by completing the Palbox's displayed construction objectives. Keep pathways broad, place doors and roofs high enough for large workers, and avoid making every machine compete for the same generalist. Keep food accessible from the production floor.
Prove the food loop before adding another production queue
Run one complete berry cycle before assigning extra mining or crafting work. Watch planting, watering, harvest collection, delivery to the Feed Box, and the next planting pass. Put a small ingredient chest beside the cooking area and keep the main food supply on an unobstructed route from the beds and workstations. If berries remain on the ground, correct transport or access first; another plantation will increase the backlog. If workers repeatedly abandon jobs to eat, shorten that journey before replacing them. Leave for a short gathering trip and inspect food and worker condition on return. A successful base resumes production without your carrying every harvest.
Help finding the missing job in the berry cycle
Where to look: Inspect the Berry Plantation, Feed Box and the suitability icons of the Pals deployed through the Palbox. Make sure workers can walk between them.
What to do: Watch one complete planting, watering, harvesting and transport cycle. Give each deployed worker a bed and keep food accessible from the work floor.
What should happen: The harvest reaches the Feed Box and the next growing cycle begins without you carrying every item yourself.
If it does not work: If berries stay on the ground, check transport coverage and path access. If a stage never starts, supply its missing work suitability before building another plantation.
Your first bottleneck is food and transport, not maximum headcount. Add workers only when the feeding cycle and beds already support them. A full chest beside an idle furnace usually indicates job assignment or pathing rather than insufficient workers.
4. Keep the starting site until the replacement base is functioning. The Sunlit Isle around (405, -483) is a useful later oil site with low-level surrounding Pals; it is an optional relocation, not required for the first tower.
Checkpoint· Before moving
Transfer stored materials and important workers; build the new food and bed loop before dismantling the old Palbox. Do not use your only productive home as a raid arena.
PLAY & BUILD COACHING
Solve one missing job at a time
For berries, confirm planting, watering and gathering all occur, then that harvested food reaches the Feed Box. For ingots, confirm the furnace has ore and a Kindling worker. A Lamball moving goods cannot replace a Pengullet watering or Foxparks kindling. Keep the first base compact enough to watch those steps complete before adding a second plantation or furnace.
Checkpoint· Ready for a short town trip
Leave food in the Feed Box, beds for deployed workers, a fed travelling party and spare spheres. The next section teaches the shield, ranged weapon and tower preparation; you do not need that complete tower kit just to follow .
gear
Put the first furnace on the shopping list
Primitive Furnace opens at technology level 10 and uses 20 Wood, 40 Stone and 3 Flame Organs. Build it before allocating ingots to several later machines, then assign a Kindling Pal. A finished furnace without a fire worker cannot sustain the saddle and kitchen chain.

1. Travel west to Small Settlement around (76, -476), activating statues on the way. Speak to the chief to advance the story. Capture Foxparks, unlock its Harness, build the Pal Gear Workbench and craft it, then return to the chief.
If you lack a usable ranged weapon, unlock Old Bow and Arrow at technology level 3. The common bow recipe uses 30 Wood, 5 Stone and 15 Fiber at the Primitive Workbench; confirm your displayed recipe, craft arrows, equip the bow and test one shot in safety. Keep a stronger usable weapon if already available. These quantities come from extracted item data, not a play-tested save.
2. Craft and equip a Cloth Outfit, and . The shield gives a recoverable buffer; wait behind cover until it returns instead of absorbing every attack with health. Carry food, a repaired ranged weapon and reserve spheres.
gear
Foxparks' Harness
Crafted at the Pal Gear Workbench after catching Foxparks and unlocking its technology. Useful for close targets and early Grass enemies; it does not replace a Ground attacker against Grizzbolt.
3. Catch the low-level Ground options you can safely reach—Gumoss, Rushoar or a Fuddler from an appropriate cave—and level them with your party. Keep Foxparks, a Ground fighter, one utility or carry Pal and flexible slots. A stronger-level counter is usually worth more than a rare Pal that is far behind your character.
4. Buy missing basics from settlement merchants if doing so completes an upgrade now. Save technology points for the next workbench, shield, weapon and travel tool; cosmetics can wait until the production loop is reliable.
Checkpoint· Tower supplies
Repair the bow, refill its arrows, carry healing food, and leave enough weight capacity to dodge and collect rewards. Set the active Pal's attack skills before entering.

Coverage, version notes and sources
The guide covers the complete verified normal story through the World Tree ending, major free-update systems, all normal raid families, Hard-tower/Arena preparation and all 75 current Steam achievement names.
